Sunderland are expected to remain active heading into the final few hours of the January transfer window with the 11pm deadline closing in.
The Black Cats announced their second signing of the window, with Romaine Mundle penning a four-and-a-half-year deal from Standard Liege.
The club are also closing in on a deal to sign Barnsley midfielder Callum Styles, despite boss Michael Beale pouring cold water on the move earlier in the window.
Styles looks set to complete a loan move to the Stadium of Light, with an option to buy in the summer window.
Continuing the theme of incomings, the Wearsiders look set to miss out on Kieffer Moore, having failed to strike an agreement with Bournemouth.
The Wales international has travelled to London as part of Andoni Iraola's squad to face West Ham United this evening, but looks set for a move to Sunderland's Championship rivals Ipswich Town.
The Tractorboys are said to have agreed terms with the Cherries in the last few hours ahead of a loan move to Portman Road.
The chances of Amad Diallo returning to the Stadium of Light this month are slim, with Manchester United intent on keeping the Ivorian international at Old Trafford, unless something drastically changes in the final few hours of the window.
In terms of outgoings, Alex Pritchard has completed a move to Birmingham City for an undisclosed fee, reuniting with former Black Cats boss Tony Mowbray. He's signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Blues. It comes after the playmaker expressed his desire to leave, making himself unavailable for selection prior to Sunderland's win over Stoke City.

The Black Cats also look set to cash in on youngster Josh Robertson, who has been at the club since he was nine-years-old, with Brighton agreeing a deal to sign the attacking midfielder. The 18-year-old, who has impressed in the FA Youth Cup this season, is in the final six months of his deal at the Stadium of Light.
Robertson is understood to be on the south coast to complete his move before the transfer window slams shut.
The Wearesiders have also knocked back two approaches from Serie A side Lazio for winger Jack Clarke earlier this week, but he's set to stay in red and white until the summer transfer window.
Clarke has been the standout performer for the Black Cats so far this season, with 13 goals in the Championship this season. Sunderland are believed to be holding out for larger offers in the summer, having turned down bids in the region of £15million.
