Regis Le Bris will kick off his Sunderland tenure against Cardiff City on the opening weekend of the season. The Wearsiders first game of the 2024/25 Championship campaign will be away at the Cardiff City Stadium, on Saturday August 10, with the game kicking off at 12.30pm and being shown live on Sky Sports.

The Black Cats will then face a Carabao Cup first round tie in midweek, with the regionalised northern draw for that competition set to take place tomorrow afternoon.

Sunderland will then play host to Danny Rohl's Sheffield Wednesday in the first home game of the season on Saturday, August 17. Recently relegated Burnley will then make the trip to the Stadium of Light on August 24, before a mammoth trip to Portsmouth and Fratton Park to round off the month of August.

Other highlights include a Wear-Tees derby fixture at the Stadium of Light on September 21, with the reverse fixture at The Riverside on February 1.

A busy December sees Sunderland play six games, including a Boxing Day clash with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, before a trip to Stoke City on December 29. The Black Cats will then host Sheffield United on New Year's Day.

Easter begins with a Good Friday trip to Bristol City followed by an Easter Monday clash on home soil with Blackburn Rovers. Sunderland will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the 5-1 drubbing in the same fixture, last season.

The run-in starts in April with games away games against West Brom and Norwich City, before a home game against Swansea City. 

A trip to newly promoted Oxford United marks the final away trip of the season on Saturday, April 26.

Sunderland's final game of the season sees them host Queen's Park Rangers at the Stadium of light on Saturday, May 3.
