Matty Hewitt and Scott Wilson sat down for this morning's briefing now the dust has settled following Sunderland's 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round.

The pair took a closer look at Michael Beale's approach for the game, Jack Clarke and Dan Neil's displays.

Eddie Howe's side showed their quality in a disappointing defeat at the Stadium of Light, a Dan Ballard own goal and an Alexander Isak brace saw the Magpies advance through to the next round of the competition.

Sunderland will be looking to move on from the game quickly ahead of a difficult run of games, starting next weekend at Portman Road against Ipswich Town.
