Sunderland may have lost their derby crown but it was an afternoon to remember with brilliant support from the red and white faithful.

Fans were in town from early doors as the pubs opened at 9am to welcome supporters in for a pre-match pint.

We Are Sunderland captured some of those early morning scenes both in town and at the Fan Museum before heading over to the Stadium of Light.

We even managed a quick word with former Black Cats forward Fabio Borini, who knows a thing or two about scoring against the arch enemy.
